Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Scientist/Chief Engineer in Yorba Linda, CA. The role focuses on providing deep GPS and A-PNT expertise across multiple programs within the Navigation Solutions business.

The candidate will interface with engineers, management, customers, and suppliers to ensure mission success. Required are a STEM degree with extensive related experience, DoD customer experience, active SECRET clearance, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline with extensive experience.
• 7+ years leading major programs as Chief Engineer or Technical Lead with GPS/APNT/RF experience.
• Active DoD customer experience and a SECRET clearance or higher.
• 4+ years of EV management, metrics development and estimates.
• Strong verbal and written communication for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for a program within Navigation Solutions.
• Lead, direct and review technical work from engineering staff to meet objectives.
• Drive technical vision and execution for program success.
• Develop and pursue new business opportunities.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal teams to execute programs.
• Lead problem resolution, failure investigations and troubleshooting.
• Travel up to 30% on-site where required.
