Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Chief Engineer to own the technical architecture and system-level design of onboard autonomy, C2, and modular payloads for next-generation platforms. You will lead lean, multidisciplinary teams from concept to deployment, bridging the gap between strategy and rigorous engineering execution.

You will collaborate with product and field teams to translate mission needs into concrete milestones, ensuring software-heavy robotics systems meet demanding defense

Qualifications

• Proven track record directing technical architecture and guiding individual contributors as a lead engineer.
• Experience in software-heavy robotics, autonomous systems, or aerospace products.
• Strong hardware/software integration skills and robotics software architectures.
• Experience with autonomous systems and mission-critical DoD or tactical edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering, requirements decomposition, and technical architecture for software-heavy robotics systems.
• Guide small, fast-moving groups of individual contributors through design, implementation, and deployment phases.
• Oversee hardware/software integration and testing (simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, field testing) for perception, motion planning, and task allocation algorithms.
• Partner with Product Managers and Business Development to translate customer mission needs into concrete technical milestones.
• Decide technical trade-offs across concurrent programs and prioritize engineering efforts.
