Job summary

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. seeks a hands-on licensed Chief Engineer/ Designated Duty Engineer (Unlimited) for a small freight ship on rotating trips with shore-side maintenance in Yonges Island, SC. Retractable travel is part of the role.

The candidate must hold a USCG Chief Engineer or Designated Duty Engineer license with STCW certificates, plus at least five years at sea and two years as Chief Engineer, ready for long trips and strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• USCG license as Chief Engineer or Designated Duty Engineer required.
• STCW Basic Training and STCW Medical Certificate required.
• Engine Room Officer in Charge and Chief Engineer STCW credentials.
• Proficiency in Survival Craft and Advanced Firefighting credentials.
• TWIC, Passport, and valid driver\'s license required.
• Willingness to travel 30–60 days per trip.
• Minimum 5 years ocean sailing experience and 2 years as Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Operate and supervise engine room on a small freight ship.
• Perform rotating voyages and shore-side maintenance.
• Coordinate with crew on safety, watchkeeping and regulatory compliance.
• Travel to vessels as required; ensure vessel readiness and inspections.

CHIEF ENGINEER/DESIGNATED DUTY ENGINEER

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. is looking for a "hands-on" licensed duty engineer "Unlimited" for a small freight ship. The individual assigned to this position will be familiar with Caterpillar 3412's and 50 cycle Caterpillar generators. Paid travel to and from vessel. Work schedule will consist of rotating trips and shore side maintenance.
