Role Description

The Chief Engineer is a full-time, on-site role located in Prospect Park, PA, responsible for overseeing all property maintenance and engineering operations. This role manages preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable hotel operations. The Chief Engineer leads and schedules the engineering team, coordinates with vendors and contractors, monitors maintenance budgets, and ensures compliance with local codes and brand standards. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting guest rooms and public areas, responding to work orders, maintaining equipment logs, and implementing energy conservation initiatives. The role also collaborates closely with hotel leadership to support guest satisfaction, minimize downtime, and maintain a clean, well-functioning property.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and repair of hotel or commercial facilities.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and schedule a maintenance team, with effective delegation and performance management.
• Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards relevant to hospitality or commercial properties.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to work hands-on, respond to emergencies, and adapt to changing operational needs, including occasional evenings or weekends.
• Working knowledge of energy management practices and cost-control measures for maintenance operations.
