Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is assisting a major structural steel operation in Western New York to recruit a Chief Engineer who will own the technical direction of projects, lead engineering teams and shape connection design from calculations to fabrication. This is a hands-on leadership role where decisions impact quality, efficiency and on-time delivery.

You'll collaborate with detailing, project management, production and quality teams, while mentoring junior engineers and refining engineering

Qualifications

• Strong structural steel engineering experience.
• Solid knowledge of connection design.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of AISC standards.
• PE license preferred; bridge experience beneficial.

Chief Engineer - Structural Steel

Western New York

$120,000 to $160,000

This isn't a role where you'll simply review drawings from the sidelines.

We're looking for a Chief Engineer to take technical ownership within a major structural steel operation - leading engineering, shaping connection design, solving complex technical challenges, and helping drive projects from engineering through production.

You'll be stepping into a position where your decisions have a direct impact on quality, efficiency, and the successful delivery of major steel projects.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Chief Engineer, you'll become a key technical leader within the business.

You’ll work closely with detailing, project management, production and quality teams, ensuring engineering decisions translate effectively from calculations and drawings into the shop and ultimately onto the project.

You’ll also have the opportunity to develop junior engineers and improve engineering processes, giving you genuine influence over how the function operates.
