The Belamar Hotel, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property in Manhattan Beach, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering and Maintenance operation, ensuring the property is safe, functional, and guest-ready. You will manage preventive and corrective maintenance and oversee the engineering team.

You will maintain records, coordinate purchasing, perform safety inspections, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, working hands-on with a dependable leadership style to support

Formación

• 2+ years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience, including supervisory or progressive leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, locks, HVAC, and pool/spa maintenance.
• Experience supervising, training, scheduling, and developing a maintenance/engineering team.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.

Responsabilidades

• Lead day-to-day Engineering and Maintenance operations across the entire property
• Supervise, train, schedule, and develop the Engineering team
• Oversee corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance
• Ensure guestrooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems are properly maintained
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for required and preventive maintenance
• Schedule and assign daily maintenance responsibilities based on property needs
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are safe, functional, and properly maintained
• Manage inventory and approved purchasing of tools, supplies, equipment, and services
• Conduct regular property safety inspections and participate in the hotel Safety Committee
• Maintain required certifications and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations
• Maintain strong knowledge of property shutoffs, plumbing cleanouts, fire safety equipment, and emergency procedures
• Oversee exterior lighting, gutters, walkways, parking areas, trash enclosures, pool/spa, and common areas
• Maintain proper control and security of hotel-issued keys
• Respond to guest and team member maintenance needs with professionalism and urgency
• Partner with other departments to support the overall operation and guest experience
• Lead by example with a hands-on, dependable approach

Located in sunny Manhattan Beach, The Belamar Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a boutique-style coastal retreat just minutes from the beach and LAX. THE ROLE

As Chief Engineer, you’ll lead the hotel’s Engineering and Maintenance operation, ensuring the property is safe, functional, well maintained, and guest-ready. You’ll oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, lead the Engineering team, manage department resources, and ensure the hotel meets safety and regulatory standards. You will:

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

The hotel is safe, functional, well maintained, and ready for guests every day. Preventive maintenance stays on track, issues are addressed quickly, the Engineering team is organized and accountable, and the property consistently meets safety, quality, and operational standards.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of hotel Engineering or Maintenance experience, including supervisory or progressive leadership responsibility
• Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, locks, HVAC, and pool/spa maintenance
• Experience supervising, training, scheduling, and developing a Maintenance/Engineering team
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs
• Experience managing maintenance records, inventory, purchasing, and department resources
• Strong understanding of property safety, health, and regulatory requirements
• Strong organization, prioritization, delegation, and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on, dependable leadership style with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and guest service skills
• English speaking or bilingual
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift/maneuver/carry up to 50 lbs., with or without a dolly
