Job summary

Hotel Equities seeks a dependable Chief Engineer to maintain hotel facilities, respond to maintenance needs, and support operations. You’ll perform routine repairs, inspect systems, and assist with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work while upholding safety and service standards.

You’ll ensure preventative maintenance, document activities, and help minimize downtime. The role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hotel maintenance, engineering, facilities, or general building maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repair practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine maintenance issues.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Safely use basic hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance needs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, associates, and management.
• Maintain hotel facilities, equipment, and common areas in a safe and operational condition.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Complete work orders and document completed maintenance activities.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and maintain property standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company, hotel brand, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Respond appropriately to urgent property needs and support emergency maintenance situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

The Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the hotel's physical facilities, equipment, and guest areas to ensure a safe, clean, comfortable, and well-functioning environment. This position responds to maintenance needs, performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance, and supports the overall operational needs of the hotel.

What You'll Do

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods.

• Use ladders and perform work at various heights when necessary.


• Work in indoor and outdoor environments and in varying temperatures.


• Safely operate basic hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
