Compass Group USA, ESFM division, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead on-site Integrated Facilities Management. You will oversee hard services, critical infrastructure, and cooling systems for high-density compute environments, providing technical leadership and operational oversight.

The role requires strong team leadership, safety focus, and experience in plant maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or military experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and plumbing blueprints.
• Proficient in Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with plant maintenance including Electrical, Boilers, Hydraulics, and Compressed Air.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safety of all operating equipment within the facility.
• Develop and train all staff in plant and emergency procedures.
• Handle the procurement of all repair parts for routine preventative and emergency repairs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Develop a plant-wide Preventative Maintenance schedule for all building, process equipment, and plant utilities.
• Maintain the departmental budget with focus on parts, supplies and labor management.
• Ensure compliance with wastewater and emissions standards.
• Oversee outside contractors in the repairs and upkeep of plant equipment.
• Available for off-site plant startups and special projects.

Job Summary

The Chief Engineer serves as the on-site engineering leader with full accountability for the delivery of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) services, including hard services, critical infrastructure, and advanced liquid cooling systems supporting high-density compute environments. This role provides technical leadership, team management, and operational oversight to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or military experience is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
• Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
• Must be capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical, and plumbing blue prints
• Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Good working knowledge all aspects of plant maintenance to include but not limited to; Electrical, Boilers, Hydraulics, Compressed Air, Mechanical Equipment
