Job summary

Newport Hospitality Group, Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the hotel''s Engineering department, ensuring optimal building functionality, safety, and guest satisfaction.

You will manage maintenance, capital expenditures, and team development while driving financial performance and compliance with brand standards. This role requires a proactive leader with 5+ years in hospitality, strong knowledge of building systems, and the ability to operate 24/7 including weekends and holidays,

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems and equipment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding that the hotel is a 24/7 operation and this role may require weekends/nights/holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance staff and oversee all repairs and ongoing maintenance tasks. Our Maintenance Dept. is made up of a two person team including the Chief Engineer & the Maintenance Technician
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of all equipment and systems.
  • Inspect and maintain the physical features of the property including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and grounds.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.
