Job summary

Dimension Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance department and oversee all building systems and property upkeep at our Dana Point property.

You will ensure safety, preventive maintenance, and repairs while supervising a team of maintenance professionals, coordinating with hotel leadership, and managing budgets and vendor relations.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering or maintenance leadership experience required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Organized, dependable, and safety focused.
• Able to lead, train, and motivate a maintenance team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible to work any shifts including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance and engineering team.
• Oversee daily repairs, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure proper operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Conduct regular property inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Manage department budgeting, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and regulatory standards.
• Support maintenance team with troubleshooting and project work.
• Respond quickly to urgent issues and guest impact situations.
• Coordinate effectively with hotel leadership and all departments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized engineering shop and work areas.
