Job summary

Blayze Group, a respected Atlanta commercial real estate owner and operator, is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee building operations, maintenance, and engineering support across a portfolio of South Atlanta properties.

You will lead daily engineering activities, supervise engineers and vendors, coordinate maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, respond to tenant requests and emergencies, and work with Property Managers on budgets and asset performance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent role.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating vendors.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, lighting and life-safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily engineering, maintenance and building operations across South Atlanta properties.
• Supervise Building Engineers, maintenance technicians, vendors and contractors.
• Oversee preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, lighting and life-safety systems.
• Respond to tenant service requests, operational issues, repairs and emergencies.
• Inspect properties to identify maintenance priorities, safety concerns and capital needs.
• Coordinate vendor work, service contracts, inspections, repairs and specialist maintenance.
• Maintain work orders, service logs, inspection reports, equipment records and compliance documentation.
• Support Property Managers with budgets, planning, tenant communication and asset performance.

Blayze Group is partnering with a well-established commercial real estate owner and operator to appoint a Chief Engineer to oversee building operations, maintenance, and engineering support across a portfolio of commercial properties, with a strong focus on assets located across the south side of Atlanta.

The Role

• Lead daily engineering, maintenance, and building operations across assigned South Atlanta commercial properties
• Supervise Building Engineers, maintenance technicians, vendors, and contractors
• Oversee preventative maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, lighting, and life safety systems
• Respond to escalated tenant service requests, operational issues, repairs, and building emergencies
• Inspect properties regularly to identify maintenance priorities, safety concerns, and capital improvement needs
• Coordinate vendor work, service contracts, inspections, repairs, and specialist maintenance activity
• Maintain accurate work orders, service logs, inspection reports, equipment records, and compliance documentation
• Support Property Managers with budgets, planning, tenant communication, and long term asset performance

Background Sought

• Experience as a Chief Engineer, Lead Building Engineer, Facilities Manager, or Senior Maintenance professional
• Commercial property maintenance or commercial building engineering experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, lighting, and life safety systems
• Experience leading maintenance teams, coordinating vendors, and managing building operations
• Professional, hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working directly with tenants and property management teams
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple South Atlanta properties and keep operations running smoothly
