Job summary

Williams Electric & HVAC in Dallas–Fort Worth is seeking a Chief Electrical Estimator to lead our electrical estimating function while staying hands-on with takeoffs and pricing. Qualifications

  • At least seven years of direct commercial or industrial electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor.
  • Experience estimating multimillion-dollar commercial or light industrial electrical projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and bid documents.
  • Experience with Trimble Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or comparable electrical estimating software.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate labor, material, equipment, vendor, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Ability to prepare clear proposals, scope summaries, clarifications, and exclusions.
  • Ability to manage another estimator while maintaining an individual estimating workload.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete commercial and light industrial electrical estimates.
  • Perform detailed takeoffs and review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect-cost pricing using Trimble Accubid Anywhere.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, constructability concerns, and pricing risks.
  • Prepare proposals, scope summaries, alternates, clarifications, and exclusions.
  • Manage one estimator by assigning work, reviewing estimates, setting priorities, and providing day-to-day guidance.
  • Lead final estimate reviews and make pricing recommendations to company leadership.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors during estimate development.
  • Lead estimating-to-operations turnover meetings after award.
  • Maintain estimating databases, labor units, assemblies, and current pricing information.
  • Help improve the company’s estimating and preconstruction procedures.

About the position

Williams Electric & HVAC is hiring a Chief Electrical Estimator to lead our electrical estimating function while remaining directly involved in producing estimates.

This is a hands‑on position. The Chief Electrical Estimator will take commercial and light industrial projects from bid documents through takeoff, pricing, final review, and proposal submission. This person will also manage other estimators, review their work, assign bids, and help maintain consistent estimating standards.

The right candidate will have substantial experience preparing complete electrical estimates, including labor, material, equipment, vendor quotations, subcontractor pricing, clarifications, exclusions, and final proposals.

Williams Electric & HVAC is a commercial and industrial electrical contractor serving the Dallas‑Fort Worth area. Our work includes commercial construction, tenant finish‑outs, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, healthcare projects, municipal work, and light industrial facilities. Project sizes range from smaller renovations to multimillion‑dollar electrical contracts.

Required qualifications

  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and bid documents.
  • Working knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods, labor requirements, material applications, and applicable NEC requirements.
  • Experience with Trimble Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or comparable electrical estimating software.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate labor, material, equipment, vendor, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Ability to prepare clear proposals, scope summaries, clarifications, and exclusions.
  • Ability to manage another estimator while maintaining an individual estimating workload.
  • Strong organizational, communication, judgment, and deadline‑management skills.
