Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Engineering Chief Engineer to lead design, development, integration, and verification of spaceborne electrical and avionics systems. You will act as the technical authority for spacecraft electrical architectures, define requirements, guide multi-disciplinary teams, and interface with leadership to meet mission goals.

You will lead prototype development, contribute to IRAD directions, and oversee product designs from concept through flight

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Aerospace Engineering required.
• 15+ years in electrical/avionics engineering for aerospace systems with leadership.
• Experience as technical authority on flight hardware programs.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical baseline and architectural direction for electrical/avionics systems.
• Lead design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR) and risk assessments.
• Define and manage system/subsystem electrical requirements with traceability and verification.
• Guide integration and test strategies, including hardware-in-the-loop and environmental tests.
• Mentor engineers and drive reuse and modularity across platforms.
