Job summary

AWP Safety in Columbus, OH seeks a Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety – Field Operations to lead the strategy and execution of enterprise EHS across roadways, utilities, and field sites. You will drive safety culture, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance while guiding 27 EHS professionals and six direct reports.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading enterprise EHS programs in utilities, telecom, or construction.
• Proven ability to design and execute safety strategies across multiple regions.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and industry standards; CSP/CIH preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and embed a company-wide EHS strategy aligned with business goals.
• Direct regional and field safety teams to apply safety programs operationally.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Drive data-driven safety insights and root-cause analyses.
• Mentor EHS talent and promote accountability and proactive safety ownership.
• Communicate significant EHS events and policy changes internally.
• Travel ~40% regionally and nationally to support sites.
