Job summary

Pacific International Executive Search has been retained by a leading chemical manufacturer to lead Environmental, Health, and Safety at the Director level. This senior role shapes enterprise-wide safety, compliance, and sustainability across a multi-site operation.

The Director will partner with executive leadership to drive strategic EHS initiatives, strengthen culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver day-to-day improvements that reduce risk and support growth.

Qualifications

• Senior EHS leadership experience in complex, multi-site manufacturing environments.
• Deep knowledge of environmental regulations and EHS best practices.
• Proven ability to implement enterprise EHS systems and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to executive leadership on environmental, health, safety, and process safety matters.
• Develop and execute the enterprise-wide EHS strategy, aligned with operational excellence and sustainability goals.
• Lead and continuously improve the EHS management system, including policies, standards, governance processes, and performance metrics.
• Champion a culture of safety focused on zero injuries, proactive risk identification, and continuous improvement across sites.
• Ensure OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance and all applicable environmental/regulatory standards.
• Partner with site leadership to implement practical EHS programs and drive consistent standards.
• Establish and monitor leading and lagging indicators to track progress and accountability.
• Build and lead a high-performing EHS organization with talent development and succession planning.
• Support growth initiatives with EHS due diligence, risk assessment, and integration leadership.
• Advance sustainability initiatives related to environmental performance and energy efficiency.
