Job summary

The Washington Area Community Investment Fund, Inc. (WACIF) seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead development and fundraising strategy, expanding and diversifying funding sources across foundations, financial institutions, corporations, government, and individuals.

The CDO will cultivate senior-level relationships and drive external outreach to advance WACIF's mission. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Team, the CDO will oversee strategy execution, partner with the Board, and

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fundraising leadership in philanthropy or development.
• Proven track record of securing significant philanthropic and institutional support.
• Experience developing and leading multi-year fundraising strategies.
• Strong experience with foundations, corporations, financial institutions, government funders, major donors, and other institutional partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a multi-year development strategy with clear revenue goals, priorities, and success metrics.
• Expand and diversify funding base across foundations, financial institutions, corporations, government, individual donors, and other strategic partners.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward WACIF’s highest-priority funders and prospective partners.
• Develop executive-level engagement strategies for WACIF’s most important current and prospective funders and partners.
• Represent WACIF at external meetings, conferences, and other opportunities to strengthen relationships and funding opportunities.
