Job summary

IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) is seeking a dynamic Chief Development Officer to lead fundraising and development strategies ensuring financial sustainability and growth. The CDO will report to the CEO and collaborate with the Executive Committee and staff to engage donors, foundations, and partners.

The role requires strategic leadership, broad fundraising expertise, and a commitment to IDEA’s faith-based mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years related fundraising and development experience.
• Requires travel to support organizational activities.
• Proven track record of successful fundraising leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Extensive experience with digital fundraising, social media campaigns, and donor management systems.
• Superior management skills with demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic and operational planning as a member of the executive committee.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet revenue goals.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with high net worth individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Lead planning and implementation of major campaigns, annual giving, grants, and events.
• Oversee donor engagement programs and ensure strong stewardship.
• Represent IDE A at fundraising events, including public speaking engagements.
• Build and lead a high-performing development and marketing team.
• Collaborate with programs to communicate impact and success stories.
• Monitor fundraising metrics and report to leadership and board.
