Job summary

The Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs is seeking a Development Director to lead fundraising strategy across individuals, foundations, corporations, and government contracts. You will implement systems, set annual revenue goals, and supervise a small team to ensure data-driven donor engagement.

You will build grant budgets, manage a robust fundraising calendar, and coordinate with the COO, program leadership, and board committees.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading fundraising across individuals, law firms, corporations, foundations, and government contracts.
  • Proven ability to build and manage development systems, budgets, and dashboards.
  • Strong data-driven approach to donor segmentation and gift pipelines.
  • Experience supervising staff and collaborating with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all fundraising efforts across multiple donor channels.
  • Build and manage development and stewardship plans to hit revenue goals.
  • Maintain CRM data integrity and governance with SOPs and training.
  • Create and monitor grant budgets, calendars, and reporting for stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute strategies for major gifts, events, and online giving.
  • Collaborate with board and executives to expand donor networks and fundraising partnerships.
