Job summary

Nonprofit Connect seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead fundraising, marketing, volunteer programs, and communications for the organization. The role focuses on growing donor support, managing grants, and directing events to advance the mission.

The position requires strategic development experience, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and the board to maximize impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible fundraising and marketing experience in a nonprofit setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals, corporations, foundations, and other entities.
• Demonstrated success in program development/design, proposal writing, and grant management.
• Demonstrated success in special event fundraising.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage annual development plan.
• Direct special event planning.
• Ensure timely recognition of donors and volunteers.
• Direct the agency’s marketing and public relations programs.
• Direct the volunteer program and empower volunteer leaders to fundraise.
• Generate new ideas to increase revenue and donors.
• Report progress to leadership and board.
• Build relationships with new donors and strengthen relationships with existing donors.
