Job summary

Rocking the Boat seeks a Chief Development Officer in New York to lead a three-person Development team and work with the CEO and Board to raise a diversified annual budget of $5 million for youth programs in the Bronx and San Francisco.

You will drive major gifts, foundation and corporate fundraising, donor stewardship, and data-driven strategies, coordinating with programs, communications, and events to advance fundraising goals and community impact.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of progressive nonprofit development experience with emphasis on major giving and donor relationship management.
• Ability to craft compelling donor communications and solicitations with insight and impact.
• Experience developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies across multiple channels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Rocking the Boat's major gifts program and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Collaborate with the CEO and Board on fundraising strategy and annual budget目标 of $5 million.
• Oversee foundation, corporate, and government fundraising with program staff and external partners.
• Guide and support fundraising activities across the San Francisco office and other locations.
• Develop donor-facing materials and communications in coordination with the Communications team.
• Plan and execute major annual fundraisers and other events; manage donor communications and sponsorship logistics.
• Ensure timely donor stewardship and impact reporting, maintaining strong relationships and continued support.
• Maintain Salesforce donor records and track fundraising metrics and deadlines.
• Represent the organization at board meetings and donor events to deepen engagement.
