Job summary

Columbia University’s School of General Studies seeks an Officer of Administration to lead fundraising and alumni relations, partnering with senior leadership to advance endowment, current-use, and annual giving initiatives.

The role manages a team of eight development professionals, coordinating with the Dean, Vice Dean, and events teams to drive strategic fundraising and alumni engagement across university partners and donors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead staff and manage budgets.
• Experience managing major and principal gift prospects.
• Strong written, analytical, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief development and alumni relations officer for the School.
• Manage a portfolio of major- and principal-gift prospects.
• Lead fundraising programs including signature events and initiatives.
• Collaborate with University partners to align fundraising priorities.
• Develop budgets, reports, and fundraising pipelines.
