Job summary

Columbia University in New York is seeking a Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator to advance philanthropic priorities through donor engagement, alumni relations, fundraising support, and advancement operations.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, this role provides hands-on experience across fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship, prospect management, and program coordination within an academic health setting.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Two years of related nonprofit or higher education experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities with discretion for senior leadership, donors, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Support annual giving and fundraising initiatives by coordinating outreach activities, donor communications, stewardship efforts, and campaign-related projects that advance the College's philanthropic priorities.
  • Plan and coordinate donor, alumni, and volunteer engagement events, including cultivation and stewardship gatherings, reunions, alumni programs, advisory committee meetings, and other activities designed to strengthen constituent relationships and encourage giving.
  • Support the maintenance of donor and alumni records within the constituent relationship management database (Uproar), ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of biographical, engagement, and giving information.
  • Prepare fundraising reports, donor lists, and data analyses to support donor cultivation, stewardship, annual giving, prospect management, and strategic decision-making.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
