Weber State University seeks a strategic Chief Data Officer to lead enterprise data governance, privacy, analytics infrastructure, and data-driven decision-making across the campus. Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; 8 years of related work experience.
• Experience with database languages, business intelligence and data visualization tools, data modeling, and complex reporting environments.

Responsibilities

• Data pipeline & model operations: audit, build, and optimize data workflows and reporting structures.
• Student success analytics: analyze enrollment, engagement, retention, and related datasets to drive insights.
• Self-service & dashboard development: design and maintain dashboards for decision-makers.
• Privacy framework operationalization: enforce data privacy protocols (FERPA and state regs).
• Access controls & data minimization: define and audit role-based access and data retention.

Education

Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, information Systems, Statistics, Higher Education Administration or related field
