Hamilton Barnes seeks a Head of Data Centers to own and grow a portfolio of AI/HPC-ready facilities across sites, leading design through live operations.

You will drive power strategy, interconnections, and reliability while managing budgets and key partnerships; travel across the portfolio is expected.

The role requires 12+ years in data center development, strong financial acumen, and a proven leadership track in fast-growth environments.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

• Own delivery and operation of the data center portfolio, ensuring sites are developed, built and operated safely, on time and on budget.
• Lead site selection, due diligence and feasibility across new and brownfield sites with focus on power, fiber connectivity and community relations.
• Oversee design, permitting, construction and commissioning of AI and HPC-ready facilities, including modular and liquid-cooled deployments.
• Manage utility relationships, interconnection requirements, power procurement and energization strategy across the portfolio.
• Drive operational excellence at live sites: uptime, maintenance programs, incident response, capacity planning, business continuity, disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with commercial leadership to support tenant onboarding, customer requirements and fit-out delivery.
• Manage general contractors, engineering partners, OEMs and key suppliers; oversee long-lead electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Partner with Finance on capital budgets, forecasting and project returns across sites.
• Build and lead a high-performing data center team as the portfolio scales.
• Provide clear reporting on delivery progress, operational performance and risk to exec team and Board.

With a power-first strategy, an operational flagship campus, and a pipeline of several hundred megawatts across multiple US sites, the organization is entering a major phase of growth.

The organization is expanding its team and is looking to appoint a Head of Data Centers to take ownership of its data center portfolio and turn a strong pipeline into energized, revenue-generating capacity. The ideal candidate will lead the full data center lifecycle, from powered land and brownfield conversion through design, construction, commissioning, and live operations, working closely with the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities:

• Own the delivery and operation of the company’s data center portfolio, ensuring sites are developed, built and operated safely, on time and on budget
• Lead site selection, due diligence and feasibility across new and brownfield sites, with a strong focus on power availability, fiber connectivity and community relations
• Oversee design, permitting, construction and commissioning of AI and HPC-ready facilities, including modular and liquid-cooled deployments
• Manage utility relationships, interconnection requirements, power procurement and energization strategy across the portfolio

Skills/Must Have:

• 12+ years of progressive experience in data center development, construction, operations or critical infrastructure, including senior leadership roles
• Proven experience delivering and operating hyperscale, colocation, AI or HPC data center capacity
• Strong understanding of power infrastructure, utility interconnections, cooling strategies (including liquid cooling), commissioning and reliability
• Experience converting powered land or brownfield sites into operational data center capacity preferred
• Track record of managing multiple large-scale projects across contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including capital budgeting, forecasting and contract negotiation
• Experience building and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
• Willingness to travel regularly across the portfolio

Salary:

• $200,000 + Bonus + Equity
