Job summary

Weber State University seeks a Chief Data Officer to steer data governance, privacy, and analytics across the university. You will lead data pipelines, governance policies, and self-service dashboards to enable data-driven decisions for student success and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Vice President for Administrative Services, you will partner with the CIO and campus leaders to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable data solutions across enrollment, academic outcomes, and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, information Systems, Statistics, Higher Education Administration or related field.
• 8 years of related work experience.
• Experience with database languages, business intelligence/data visualization tools, data modeling, and complex reporting environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead university-wide data governance, data privacy, analytics infrastructure, and data-driven decision-making.
• Develop data pipelines, reporting frameworks, and analytical tools to turn raw data into actionable insights.
• Oversee self-service dashboards and analytics platforms for academic and administrative decision-makers.
• Enforce privacy protocols aligned with FERPA and state regulations.
• Collaborate with CIO and campus stakeholders to align data architecture with strategic needs.
• Provide hands-on training to build data literacy across campus.
