Job summary

Nonstop Health seeks a Senior Vice President of Legal & Compliance to build and lead the company’s compliance function as it scales in a multi-state healthcare benefits and insurance environment.

The role requires turning regulatory, privacy, licensing, and contractual requirements into practical guidance and controls, partnering with Technology, Product, and Operations to embed compliance across the business.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of compliance leadership experience within a regulated multi-state organization.
• Strong working knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, IRS requirements, licensing, and privacy frameworks.
• Proven ability to build compliance infrastructure, systems, and controls in growth-stage companies.
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into clear guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
• Experience operating in growth-stage, private-equity backed environments with external-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead an enterprise-wide compliance program addressing ERISA, HIPAA, IRS regulations, licensing, and client obligations.
• Oversee PHI handling, privacy controls, and vendor/Business Associate Agreements in collaboration with technology and product teams.
• Maintain visibility into licenses and regulatory registrations across multi-state operations; coordinate regulatory inquiries and audits.
• Translate complex regulatory and contractual requirements into actionable guidance for business stakeholders.
• Provide legal and commercial judgment while coordinating with outside counsel on high-risk matters.
