Job summary

The University at Buffalo seeks a dynamic Vice President for Community and Government Relations to lead UB’s engagement with government officials, community partners and advocacy organizations. Reporting to the President, this role shapes policy conversations and secures strategic funding supporting student success and research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least 10 years of experience in government and community relations or legislative experience in large, matrixed organizations.
• Expertise in NYS legislative and budget processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead UB's engagement with government officials, community partners and advocacy organizations.
• Represent UB with senior government officials and community leaders.
• Coordinate with SUNY System Administration and other entities on government and community relations matters.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with higher-education associations, business groups, and civic organizations.
• Shape policy conversations related to higher education and regional innovation.
• Lead advocacy efforts to secure funding and invest in student success, research, and infrastructure.
