The City of Indianapolis and Marion County seeks a Chief Communications Officer to serve as the senior communications advisor to the City-County Council. You will lead development and execution of communications strategies supporting legislative, fiscal, constituent-service and organizational priorities.

You will supervise the Public Information Officer, manage media relations, and ensure timely, accurate, accessible, nonpartisan information dissemination.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree required; 3+ years in strategic communications, media relations, or public affairs.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to design and execute complex, enterprise-level communication strategies.

• Lead engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support Council-driven policies and understand Council initiatives.
• Develop and implement strategic communications plans aligned with Council priorities and calendar.
• Serve as official media spokesperson when designated and prepare Councilors for media engagement.
