Chief Building Engineer Supervisor

Location: Mountainview, Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, CA

About the Role:

As a CBRE Chief Building Engineer Supervisor, you will supervise the team responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing ongoing maintenance and repair operations for a facility, a campus, or a portfolio of buildings.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Track the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching opportunities.
  2. Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  3. Develop, implement, and communicate preventive maintenance programs and safety procedure manuals.
  4. Ensure that the mechanics and technicians have the proper information and materials about assignments to complete work activities in a high-quality and timely fashion.
  5. Develop material and labor cost estimates for work orders, preventative maintenance activities, systems, and construction projects.
  6. Establish and maintain budgets for facilities maintenance.
  7. Respond to emergency situations and ask for help when needed.
  8. Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.
  9. Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  10. Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams.
  11. Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals.
  12. Communicate difficult and complex ideas with the ability to influence.

What You’ll Need:

  1. High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience.
  2. Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  3. The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions.
  4. Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.
  5. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  6. Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  7. Highly sophisticated math skills to calculate complex figures such as percentages and fractions.
  8. Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation: The minimum salary for the Chief Building Engineer Supervisor position is $136,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $156,000 annually. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
