Job description

The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is recruiting a full-time Chief of Medical Breast Oncology and Cancer Insitute Vice Chair to join our team located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Highlights:

  • New state-of-the-art Academic Cancer Institute facility with on-site medical oncology and radiation oncology services; dedicated patient supportive services team to include but not limited to mid-levels, nurse navigator, dietitian, social worker and financial counselor.
  • Outstanding infrastructure exists to support success, including clinical-grade somatic next-generation sequencing and implementation of personalized cancer therapies.
  • Strong clinical trial support infrastructure.
  • Large network of 23 locations in Western Pennsylvania, accounting for >8000 new cancer patients per year.
  • A robust cellular therapy program aimed at enhancing outcomes in breast and other solid tumors.
  • A great team of clinicians representing all aspects of cancer care, including all subspecialties. These specialties are committed to offering patients the latest treatments, technologies and clinical trials, including precision medicine, cancer genomics, and immunotherapy.

Duties:

  • The selected candidate will lead the Breast Medical Oncology program.
  • The physician will assist in leading a diverse team of professionals, including breast medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists.
  • Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient care, clinical/translational research, education, and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Coordinate patient care plans for breast patients requiring both SOC and protocol-driven therapeutic interventions.
  • Developing robust clinical, translational, quality initiatives and basic science research programs in a collaborative, state-of-the-art academic environment, including cooperative groups. Dedicated research time and a clinical trial research team are available on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an ACGME-approved Medical Oncology/Hematology Fellowship
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Medical Oncology
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment
