Wages/Grade:$116,761/Grade 13
Chief Assistant Prosecting Attorney (CAPA) – Under the authority, guidelines and supervision of the Prosecuting Attorney, the Chief Assistant Prosecutor is designated by the Prosecuting Attorney as required MCL 49.153 and MSA 5.751 and will act in the absence of the Prosecuting Attorney to ensure that statutory duties are implemented. Assists in the operation of the department as directed by the Prosecuting Attorney.
Requirements include Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, passing the MPRE and licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and a member, in good standing, of the State Bar of Michigan. Minimum of seven years of previous experience as an Assistant Prosecutor, Public Defender or private attorney preferred. Annual salary is $116,761. Cass County also has a generous fringe benefits package.
