Qualifications

  • Loan Syndication Expertise: Deep knowledge of syndicated loan origination, underwriting, distribution, allocation, investor targeting, market soundings, execution strategy, and sell-down management.
  • Debt Capital Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of debt products, loan markets, capital structure, acquisition finance, leveraged finance, investment-grade and non-investment-grade credit, and related market dynamics.
  • Investor Relationship Management: Established network of bank, non-bank, institutional, and fund investor relationships; ability to understand investor strategies, portfolio needs, deal preferences, and risk appetite.
  • Credit Knowledge: In-depth understanding of credit principles, credit structures, lending practices, borrower risk profiles, credit documentation, financial analysis, and regulatory expectations governing credit practices.
  • Market Intelligence: Ability to synthesize primary and secondary market trends, investor feedback, comparable transactions, pricing data, liquidity conditions, and competitor activity into actionable client and deal strategy.
  • Transaction Execution: Ability to manage complex syndicated loan transactions from proposal through mandate, in-market execution, allocation, closing, and post-closing debrief.
  • Risk Management: Demonstrates a strong risk culture by proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating transaction, underwriting, market, reputational, regulatory, and compliance risks.
  • Business Development: Identifies and pursues opportunities to expand client relationships, deepen investor engagement, broaden distribution capabilities, and increase revenue opportunities.
  • Client Management: Builds trust-based relationships with issuing clients by providing high-quality advice, market insight, execution excellence, and responsive service.
  • Leadership: Inspires, guides, mentors, and develops junior team members while influencing senior stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively across Debt Capital Markets, Originations, Coverage, Credit, Sales & Trading, Legal, Risk, and other internal partners to deliver integrated client solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead syndication and distribution strategies for syndicated loan transactions, including investor targeting, pricing guidance, allocations, and execution.
  • Advise clients and internal partners on capital structure, market conditions, investor demand, and financing alternatives.
  • Conduct market soundings and assess investor appetite for new and existing transactions.
  • Collaborate on all stages of the syndication process, including proposal, mandate, execution, allocation, and closing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with bank, non-bank, and institutional investors to support distribution objectives.
  • Represent the syndications perspective in underwriting, credit approval, and transaction committee discussions.
  • Prepare and review investor presentations, syndication materials, distribution risk analyses, and transaction updates.
  • Monitor primary and secondary loan market activity, pricing trends, liquidity conditions, and competitor transactions.
  • Partner with Bankers, Credit, Portfolio Managers, Sales & Trading, and Legal teams to structure and execute transactions.
  • Provide market intelligence and transaction feedback to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop junior professionals while promoting a strong culture of execution excellence, collaboration, and risk management.
  • Represent KeyBanc Capital Markets at client meetings, industry conferences, investor events, and roadshows.
