Job summary

Quantum Sky seeks a Chief Engineer to translate four practices into secure, scalable software for DoD/IC and federal civilian agencies. You will set engineering standards, lead a cleared engineering team, and drive agentic AI-enabled delivery across cloud-native microservices.

You will architect, build, and assure software capable of passing accreditation, with strong focus on performance, compliance, and secure design in federal environments. Remote/hybrid, with Reston, VA location expectations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering and leadership in federal contexts.
• Expertise in cloud-native microservices, Kubernetes, and API-first design.
• Strong experience with DevSecOps, accreditation, and compliance (NIST, FedRAMP, DoD).

Responsibilities

• Architect target architecture for Project 137 applications: containerized microservices, event-driven integration, API-first design, and agentic services.
• Lead engineers to deliver solutions from concept to working, demonstrable capabilities and accreditation.
• Own the quality and security of shipped software; ensure compliance and vulnerability management.
• Leverage open source with governance, provenance, SBOMs, and risk management.
• Stand up an agentic SDLC and DevSecOps pipeline with AI-assisted design, coding, testing, and security scanning.
• Strengthen portfolio across practices with reusable services and patterns.
• Build the team by recruiting and developing engineers in cleared environments.
• Drive demonstrations and lead technical storytelling with confidence.
