Job summary

Rockstar is seeking a VP of Engineering to own the technical vision for an NP-led healthcare enablement platform. You’ll lead a small but growing data and engineering team, setting technical direction while staying hands-on.

You’ll define the roadmap, build scalable systems, and develop the team that sustains growth. You’ll own the architecture powering customer-facing products—data-intensive applications that surface complex healthcare and practice management data through clean interfaces.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production web applications with ownership over significant technical systems.
• Strong backend and data engineering expertise for processing, transforming, and serving complex data.
• Experience building data-intensive customer-facing applications.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Full-stack capabilities, with backend engineering as your primary strength.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and modern data tooling.
• Experience leading engineering teams across frontend and backend development.
• A product engineering mindset, always considering end-user experience alongside technical implementation.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Technical Strategy across the stack, balancing speed and long-term scalability.
• Build data-intensive backend systems and dashboards used by clinicians.
• Turn services into configurable, self-serve software through automation.
• Define engineering structure, hire and mentor, foster ownership and collaboration.
• Own testing, observability, and production reliability while improving performance.
