Job summary

Collective Residential is building a centralized Affordable Housing Operations platform to unify operations and oversight across a growing portfolio of communities and management companies. The SVP, Affordable Housing Operations will lead this platform and set standards across multiple states as the company grows through acquisitions.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of progressive leadership experience in affordable housing property management, operations, asset management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership across affordable housing portfolios with knowledge of LIHTC, HUD programs, Section 8, HOME Funds, bond-financed housing.
• Strong operational leadership, building or scaling teams and operating platforms.
• Experience evaluating organizations and recommending improvements to structure, staffing, processes, systems, and accountability.
• Experience with acquisitions, M&A integration, multi-company environments, shared services, or complex integrations preferred.
• Ability to provide senior-level compliance oversight without day-to-day administration.
• Strong relationships with HUD, state housing finance agencies, syndicators, investors, and external auditors.
• Experience with Yardi or comparable systems.
• Exceptional communication, judgment, relationship-building, and change-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the centralized Affordable Housing Platform across the portfolio with structure, staffing, accountability, and leadership cadence.
• Lead Acquisition Integration by assessing structures, teams, systems, and processes for the best operating model.
• Establish scalable operating standards, policies, procedures, reporting, and performance expectations.
• Provide senior-level oversight of affordable housing compliance across LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, HOME, and bond-financed programs.
• Lead risk management and regulatory strategy; advise executive leadership on regulatory matters.
• Represent Collective Residential with HUD, housing agencies, syndicators, investors, auditors, and stakeholders.
• Drive systems, data, reporting, and technology improvements including Yardi.
• Support growth, acquisitions and new business through operational and compliance leadership.
• Collaborate across corporate, portfolio leadership, regional management and property operations.
