Job summary

AbbVie in Mettawa, IL seeks a Head of AI Transformation & Analytics, Medical Affairs + Health Impact for an on-site role. The Senior Director will own the advancement of AI, analytics, and technology to shape how treatment value is identified, demonstrated, and communicated to stakeholders.

The role also leads technology operations, vendor partnerships, data quality, and compliant analytics workflows while partnering across Medical Affairs, R&D, and Legal/Compliance to deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field; MD, PharmD, PhD, MPH, MS in Data Science preferred.
• 12+ years in Medical Affairs, Health Impact, Clinical Development, HEOR, or related fields.
• 7+ years leading enterprise digital, analytics, AI, technology operations, or transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing platforms, analytics products, roadmaps, vendors, and governance.
• Strong knowledge of Medical Affairs operating models, evidence generation, care gap analytics, and health impact measurement.
• Experience in regulated, cross-functional governance environments.

Responsibilities

• Set multiyear AI, analytics, and technology strategy aligned to enterprise priorities.
• Build and deliver the MHI AI and analytics roadmap with cross-functional alignment.
• Run technology operations, governance, data quality, and lifecycle management.
• Advance care gap analytics and insights transformation to align resources and impact.
• Turn data into actionable insights for portfolio, field medical, and communications decisions.
• Lead analytics adoption metrics and enterprise value storytelling.
• Scale AI-enabled workflows with risk controls and human oversight.
• Embed responsible AI practices and collaborate with Legal/Compliance.
• Lead hub-and-spoke support for analytics across global and enterprise partners.
• Define KPIs for AI adoption, value evolution, and care impact.
