Job summary

MORSE Corp is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead AI, ML, decision systems and mission planning capabilities. This role requires steering cross-functional teams, setting technical direction, and delivering high-impact, mission-critical software and cloud solutions for the US National Security ecosystem.

Candidates must have 10+ years in R&D with AI/ML, strong leadership, and advanced degrees. Onsite or hybrid work is supported, with travel up to 25% and a comprehensive compensation

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
• Master's degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in R&D, with a focus on AI/ML, software, and decision systems.
• Proven leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing high-performing technical teams.
• Deep understanding of software development principles, methods, and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to absorb complex technical information quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure is nice to have.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical vision and direction for programs, collaborating with internal technical staff and external customers.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams developing algorithmic, software, cloud, and data solutions.
• Manage program execution, ensuring schedule and budget adherence, and overseeing successful program delivery.
• Cultivate strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders, advocating for MORSE's technology and services.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding our portfolio and driving long-term growth.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to program team members.
