Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Head of AI and Data Platform for the Lingo division in Alameda, CA. You will define the technical architecture for biosensor data ingestion, real-time and batch processing, feature stores, model serving, and data lake design.

You will lead ML model development, establish AI guardrails, build MLOps, and partner with Data Science and Product teams to scale production AI systems for consumer health experiences while ensuring regulatory alignment (HIPAA, GDPR, FDA guidance).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive software and data engineering experience.
• Experience architecting large-scale data platforms with real-time pipelines, data lakes, and ML serving infra on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture for Lingo's AI and data platform, including ingestion pipelines, real-time/batch processing, feature stores, model serving, and data lake design.
• Lead AI-powered product feature development, including personalized health insights and on-device ML inference.
• Establish engineering standards for AI system design, including RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, evaluation & observability, and safety guardrails.
