Job summary

Berkley North Pacific in Meridian, ID is seeking a VP, Chief Actuary Officer to lead the actuarial function and analytics strategy. You will partner with senior leadership to shape pricing, reserving, and analytics, driving growth and efficiency across the enterprise.

We value a strong actuarial background (FCAS or solid certification), proven team leadership, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business decisions within a Fortune 500-backed organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or FCAS with continuing education commitment.
FCAS certification required for senior actuarial leadership.
Proven success leading teams and executing strategic vision.
Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and SQL basics; knowledge of actuarial software.

Responsibilities

Lead the actuarial component of the company’s planning processes.
Provide insights into company, economic, and marketplace trends.
Lead the vision, growth, and implementation of advanced analytics.
Innovate and improve actuarial and analytics capabilities; adapt rating methodologies.
Develop strategic direction and growth initiatives for the company.
Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, and Finance; partner with actuarial teams.
Lead a high-performing Actuarial Team with mentorship and evaluation.
Perform advanced analytics and modeling using SAS, R, Python; manage data prep for analysis.
