Job summary

Randstad Inhouse Services is hiring Cherry Pickers for Ryder at its Port Deposit distribution center. You will operate a stand-up order picker to pick product from racking and get orders out the door accurately and safely.

Schedules include a rotating Wednesday. Requirements include at least 6 months of forklift experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and comfort working at height on an order picker platform.

Responsibilities

• Operate a stand-up order picker (cherry picker) and other powered industrial trucks safely.
• Pick cases from rack locations at height using an RF scanner.
• Build, stack, and stage pallets so they are stable and ready for outbound loading.
• Move product to the correct staging and storage locations.
• Complete a pre-shift equipment inspection and report any issues to a supervisor.
• Follow all safety rules, including fall protection, lockout/tagout, and 5S standards.
• Keep your work area clean and organized.
• Communicate workload and safety concerns to team leads and supervisors.

About the Role

What You’ll Do

• Operate a stand-up order picker (cherry picker) and other powered industrial trucks safely
• Pick cases from rack locations at height using an RF scanner
• Build, stack, and stage pallets so they are stable and ready for outbound loading
• Move product to the correct staging and storage locations
• Complete a pre-shift equipment inspection and report any issues to a supervisor
• Follow all safety rules, including fall protection, lockout/tagout, and 5S standards
• Keep your work area clean and organized
• Communicate workload and safety concerns to team leads and supervisors

What You Need

• At least 6 months of forklift experience (certification is not required)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (typical case weight is 20 to 30 lbs)
• Comfort working at height on an order picker platform
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Reliable attendance
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work at a steady pace

Training

New hires complete equipment and safety training before operating on their own. The first week focuses on quality and getting familiar with the site, not speed targets.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for long periods
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
• Warehouse environment with temperatures that change by season
• Safety shoes required

Shirts or t-shirts must have sleeves and be without any holes or rips. Pants without any holes or rips. No profane or suggestive texts and images. Closed toe and non slip footwear only.
