Job summary

Tennessee Oncology seeks a certified pharmacy technician to efficiently operate the admixture area, ensuring safe preparation of medications and accurate inventory management. The role supports multi-disciplinary clinic operations and patient care activities.

Experience in chemotherapy admixture is strongly preferred; license in TN or within 90 days of hire is required. Occasional travel to satellite clinics may be needed.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician certification required.
• Chemotherapy admixture experience preferred.
• TN license active or obtained within 90 days of hire if not currently licensed in TN.

Responsibilities

• Accurately retrieve medications required to fulfill medication orders.
• Review orders for appropriateness and accuracy.
• Aseptically prepare drug solutions and products.
• Maintain admixture area in accordance with clean room guidelines.
• Receive inventory and oversee dispensing of all drugs.
• Collaborate with the extended healthcare team in clinic regarding patient care activities.
• Maintain clinical logs (e.g., cleaning, controlled substances, respirator).
• Follow safety standards for handling chemotherapy and hazardous drugs.
