Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a level one Chemline Operator to support the chemline processing department. Responsibilities include racking, un-racking, and cleaning aerospace parts, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring removal of organic soils using solvent cleaners.

The role requires reading and writing English, basic computer skills, and a high school diploma or GED. Shift is 2nd shift with hours 2:00 pm to 12:30 am, and exposure to shop elements is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Reads and writes in English to perform duties.
  • Performs basic computer tasks related to logs and records.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
  • Work safely following plant safety guidelines.
  • Interpret work orders and review technique cards and paperwork.
  • Monitor milling operations; calculate etch rate and bath times.
  • Complete logs and records including measurements and chemical additions.
  • Meet production and quality standards; work in a team environment.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Under direct supervision, level one Chemline Operators, perform a variety of support functions for the chemline processing department, including but not limited to racking, un-racking, and cleaning of production aerospace parts. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations. Level one Chemline Operators will also be performing verifications ensuring that all traces of organic soils, fingerprints, dirt and dust etc. are removed by using solvent cleaners.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
  • Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
  • Correctly interpret work orders
  • Reviews Technique Cards and paperwork.
  • Monitors milling operations; calculates etch rate and modified bath times accordingly.
  • Completes logs and records, including measurements, calculations, chemical additions and milling times.
  • Meets all production and quality standards.
    Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Read and write English.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED desired but not required.
  • 0-1 Years of Experience required.
Work Schedule: (2nd Shift)
  • Monday through Thursday 2:00 pm to 12:30 am.
  • Continuously required to move about the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
  • Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, odors and temperature variations.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, and safety shoes.
