Job summary

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College's North Campus in Salisbury, NC is seeking chemistry tutors to work with students one-on-one or in small groups to support foundational and general chemistry courses.

Hours are Monday–Thursday 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., with summer hours 10:00–4:00 Monday–Thursday and 9:00–1:00 on Friday. This is a part-time temporary, in-person position with pay determined by education level.

Qualifications

• Professional Tutor: degree or success in advanced courses in the subject area
• Peer Tutor: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two recommendations of an instructor

Responsibilities

• Review material with students by discussing text, solving problems, or reviewing worksheets and reinforce learning with positive feedback.
• Provide supplemental instruction to individuals or small groups to improve academic performance.
• Organize tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning.
• Participate in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices or learn new techniques.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
