Job summary

Entegris in Danbury, CT is seeking a Chemistry Technician II to join the QC Analytics & Metrology team on 1st shift. You will support manufacturing processes for ALD Coatings and the Specialty Gas business unit of the Material Solutions division, applying safe lab practices.

You will operate FTIR, CRDS, GC-DID, GC-PDHID, GC-TCD and other instruments, perform routine testing, handle gas cylinders and manifolds, and contribute to MSA studies and ISO 17025/9001 compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; a BS is preferred for advancement.
  • Experience with hazardous materials is preferred.
  • 1st Shift with some overtime flexibility.
  • Team player with a drive for excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Able to multi-task and maintain quality in a fast-paced lab.

Responsibilities

  • Operate FTIR, CRDS, GC-DID, GC-PDHID and GC-TCD, plus XRF and other tests for ALD coatings.
  • Perform routine lab testing supporting products and new development.
  • Handle gas cylinders and manifolds; report results and address issues.
  • Support MSA studies for detection limits, accuracy, and precision.
  • Set up experiments, analyze data, and communicate results.
  • Maintain ISO 17025 and 9001 compliant lab practices; troubleshoot instruments.
  • Participate in PSSRs, JSAs, and FMEAs as needed.

Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in Danbury is seeking a Chemistry Technician to join our QC Analytics & Metrology team on 1st shift. This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes for ALD Coatings and the Specialty Gas business unit of the Material Solutions division. The ideal candidate will be diligent, results-oriented and an excellent team player, with knowledge in safe lab practices.

What You'll Do:
  • The role will primarily involve operation of several gas phase analytical techniques including FTIR, CRDS, GC-DID, GC-PDHID, and GC-TCD and some physical testing including XRF, Ellipsometer and nano indentation for ALD Coatings
  • Safely perform routine lab testing to support existing products, new product development and customer requests in a timely manner
  • Handle gas cylinders, operate gas manifolds and analytical instruments, report results and recognize issues as they arise
  • Participate in MSA studies for detection limits, accuracy, precision and stability for analytical methods
  • Set up and execute experiments - analyze data and communicate results to the team
  • Maintain and support lab practices per relevant ISO 17025 and 9001 requirements
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation including GC, FTIR, CRDS, etc.
  • Participate in Pre-Safety Start Up Reviews (PSSRs), Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs) of processes as needed

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
  • B.S degree of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science
  • 1-3 years of experience in analytical instrument operation and data analysis
  • Experience in method development
  • Certifications or training in Six Sigma, Semi, ISO, etc
  • Experience with safe handling of gas cylinders and operation of gas manifolds
  • Experience with GC and FTIR
