Senior Chemist, Technical Laboratory Operations

Entegris is currently seeking a Senior Chemist, Technical Laboratory Operations to join our Analytics & Metrology, Wet Lab team. This position will be based in our Burnet facility.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring reliable, high-throughput analytical metrology in a production laboratory supporting semiconductor-grade precursors and wet chemical cleans. This role focuses on measurement execution, data quality, contamination control, and instrument performance to ensure materials consistently meet stringent semiconductor specifications. The position plays a key role in maintaining analytical readiness, resolving production-related issues, and ensuring measurement systems remain stable, precise, and audit‑ready.

What You’ll Do
  • Execute and oversee routine analysis of semiconductor chemicals (metals, anions, organics, particles) using established methods
  • Review and approve analytical results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and conformance with product specifications
  • Ensure timely release of materials by meeting required turnaround times for production testing
  • Monitor analytical results for trends or shifts that may indicate process or contamination issues
  • Maintain measurement system capability (precision, accuracy, repeatability) for production testing
  • Apply statistical tools (SPC, control charts, trending) to monitor ongoing method and instrument performance
  • Investigate out‑of‑control conditions, excursions, and anomalous data
  • Support measurement system analysis (MSA) activities and ensure methods remain fit‑for‑purpose
  • Serve as technical expert for production instrumentation (IC, HPLC, GC, Raman, FTIR, XRF)
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of instrumentation, focusing on uptime, sensitivity, and stability
  • Ensure proper calibration, system suitability, and preventive maintenance are executed and documented
  • Support instrument qualification, performance verification, and lifecycle management
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, ISO 17025, SEMI standards, and internal quality systems
  • Author and maintain SOPs, test methods, and data review procedures
  • Ensure strict adherence to data integrity principles
  • Support audits, inspections, and customer inquiries by providing technical expertise and documentation
  • Lead analytical investigations supporting production excursions, out‑of‑spec (OOS) results, and customer complaints
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve material quality issues
  • Provide rapid, data‑driven assessments to minimize production disruption
  • Support product disposition decisions through clear interpretation of analytical results
  • Provide evening and weekend support as needed to support lab chemists and laboratory operations
What We Seek
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of analytical laboratory experience, including significant time in a production or QC environment
  • Strong expertise in chromatographic techniques (IC, LC, GC) and molecular spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman, NIR)
  • Experience working with high‑purity or semiconductor‑grade chemicals
  • Demonstrated experience supporting routine, high‑throughput laboratory operations
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in semiconductor materials supply (precursors, acids, solvents, cleans) and experience with SPC, trending tools, and production data systems (e.g., LIMS)
What We Offer
  • Generous 401(k) plan with an impressive employer match
  • Excellent health, dental and vision insurance packages to fit your needs
  • Flexible work schedule and 11 paid holidays a year
  • Paid time off (PTO) policy that empowers you to take the time you need to recharge
  • Education assistance to support your learning journey
  • Values‑driven culture with colleagues that rally around People, Accountability, Creativity and Excellence
