Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Chemistry Technician in Carrollton, TX to perform routine client-sample testing per SOPs and manage analytical data. You will assist with instrument calibration and maintenance, and support method validation under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or associate degree in science, familiarity with data acquisition software, and strong troubleshooting skills. Work hours are 8:00AM–5:00PM, Monday–Friday with competitive hourly pay.

JOB FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Department/Section Supervisor or Laboratory Manager, Chemistry Technician will be responsible for the following:

  • Routine testing of client supplied samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Generation, interpretation and management of analytical data.
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instruments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Preform Sample login and splitting
  • Assist chemists in performing analysis using one or more of the following techniques: HPLC, GC, LCMS, GCMS, GC, ICP/MS, ICP-OES, UV-VIS, FTIR, Titration, Gravimetric Analysis, or other techniques, as appropriate in a timely fashion maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Prepare analytical standards.
  • Perform daily balance, temperature and monthly pipette verification.
  • Perform sample processing in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform sample preparation.
  • Calibrate and maintain analytical instruments.
  • Prepare standards and maintain inventory
  • Purchaseof standards and solvents
  • Maintain analytical and quality records as required for accreditation/certification and related to analytical work and instrument maintenance.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports based on the analysis.
  • Identify results that require further investigation or discussion with the Department Manager/Supervisor.
  • Participate in OOS investigation and/or CAPA when necessary.
  • Learn new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
  • Other duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum high school diploma and/or associate degree in science, BA/BS degree preferred.
  • 0-1 years experience working in a laboratory setting
  • High level of computer skills and familiarity with data acquisition software
  • Strong trouble‑shooting and problem‑solving skills
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Good conceptual basis in analytical chemistry
  • Proven ability to perform standard chemical laboratory techniques

Salary

$19-$20/hr
