Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Chemist to join our analytical team in California. The role involves performing analyses using HPLC, LCMS, UPLC and related methods, preparing standards, and maintaining instruments and SOPs.

The candidate will support ISO QA/QC activities, generate timely reports, and participate in CAPA and investigations as required. Strong analytical chemistry background and GMP/GLP familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field, or 2–3 years of lab experience.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with computers and data acquisition software.
  • Solid foundation in analytical chemistry principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform standard laboratory techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses using HPLC, LCMS, UPLC and other methods with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare analytical standards and maintain inventory.
  • Conduct daily balance and temperature verifications, monthly pipette checks.
  • Process and prepare samples per SOPs.
  • Participate in ISO 17025 proficiency testing and audits.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments.
  • Support QA/QC activities and document results.
  • Generate reports and maintain accreditation records.
  • Identify results requiring investigation and escalate to management.
  • Assist in OOS investigations and CAPA activities.
  • Plan work to meet deadlines and improve turnaround times.
  • Learn and apply new techniques and technologies as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and train new chemists.

Summary:
We are currently seeking a Chemist to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analyses using techniques such as HPLC, LCMS , UPLC and other appropriate methods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare analytical standards and maintain inventory.
  • Conduct daily balance and temperature verifications, as well as monthly pipette checks.
  • Process and prepare samples in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in proficiency testing as required by ISO 17025 and other accrediting bodies.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
  • Support ISO QA/QC activities and maintain proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate analytical and quality records for accreditation and instrument performance.
  • Generate accurate, timely reports based on analytical results.
  • Identify and elevate results requiring further investigation to management.
  • Participate in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations and CAPA activities when necessary.
  • Plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines and turnaround times.
  • Learn and apply new analytical techniques and technologies as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Train new chemists as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, or 2–3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP, and GDP standards.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and data acquisition software.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid foundation in analytical chemistry principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform standard laboratory techniques.

Schedule: 8:00AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday

The compensation details provided below reflect the expected pay range for this role, based on the selected compensation structure and applicable guidelines. Actual pay within this range may vary depending on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. Additional components of total rewards—such as bonuses, benefits, or incentives—may also apply where applicable.

Salary Range for Pay Transparency

$30 - $35 USD
