Job summary

Paterson Public Schools in New Jersey invites certified chemistry teachers to join a large urban district serving diverse students. We are recruiting for the 2026-27 school year and welcome endorsements in chemistry or physical science, with bilingual teaching opportunities in Spanish or Turkish and English.

Viable candidates must hold certificates issued by the New Jersey Department of Education, or meet the requirements for certification, with an endorsement in Chemistry or Physical Science.

Qualifications

• Must hold New Jersey Chemistry or Physical Science certificate.
• Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA.
• Ability to analyze data to drive instruction; experience working with students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character.
• Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others.
• Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
