Position Overview

BASIS Ahwatukee is seeking qualified candidates for a Middle School Chemistry Teacher for the 2025/2026 school year. The Chemistry Teacher (SET) is responsible for ensuring exceptional education by preparing and facilitating subject-specific lesson plans, implementing the BASIS Curriculum, and tailoring topics to their expertise and passion for chemistry.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject with another degree
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in subject matter or education
• 2+ years of teaching/education experience

• Prepare and deliver subject and grade-specific lessons
• Provide high-level subject instruction in an interactive environment
• Design effective lessons and assessments to ensure international competitiveness
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and foster a professional community
• Tutor students to enhance academic and career success

• Support non-instructional functions such as “Early Bird,” “Late Bird,” and lunch supervision
• Maintain consistent attendance and supervise students as needed
