Job summary

Southwest Florida Water Management District is seeking a Chemistry Laboratory Student Intern to assist in the Data Collection Bureau and Chemistry Laboratory in Brooksville, FL. This part-time, on-site internship involves data entry, lab maintenance, and routine tasks to support the lab staff.

The role emphasizes organizational skills, accuracy, and readiness to learn. It requires part-time enrollment, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work at most 25 hours per

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Be at least part-time and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational or vocational program.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduates or 3.0 for graduates.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Manage physical inventory of samples from field receipt to disposal.
Clean work stations and maintain lab benches; wash glassware and prep for analysis.
Daily monitoring and recording of laboratory equipment temperatures.
Collaborate effectively with team and adapt to lab needs.
Follow technical instructions and ask questions when clarification is needed.
